Langlois Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Bio 2020

The shining soul of Chenin

Langlois Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Bio 2020 - Langlois Crémant de Loire

The embodiment of rigorous, bold craftsmanship, exalting the purity of the Chenin grape with infinite delicacy.

The beating heart of the Langlois style, the emblematic white grape variety from the Loire carries the freshness and elegance of this Blanc de Blancs blend, perfectly complemented by the liveliness of the Chardonnay.

This is the House’s very first organic Crémant de Loire, the fruit of its finest limestone parcels in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent and of its constant attention to detail, which exceeds all standards: particularly gentle pressing, 100% cuvée selection, low dosage of 2 g/L and prolonged ageing on laths.

The rare 2020 vintage is revealed in just 10,300 bottles…

Technische Daten

  • 58% Chenin, 42% Chardonnay.
  • The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates (40 cm high) to preserve the integrity of the berries all the way to the press, avoiding self-pumping and ensuring gentle transfer.
  • To preserve the precious first juices, gentle pressing is carried out just a few hours after harvesting, at 200 kg/100 L (compared with 150 kg and 160 kg/100 L respectively under the Crémant de Loire and Champagne AOC specifications).
  • No malolactic fermentation and a low dosage of 2 g/L to allow the purity of the Chenin to express itself fully.
  • Aged on laths for a minimum of 3 years (compared with a minimum of 12 months under the Crémant de Loire AOC), in the House’s historic tuffeau cellars.

Auf das Auge

A magnificent pale yellow colour.

An der Nase

Acacia and other floral accents combine with refined honey notes. A light, fresh hint of menthol is the perfect extension of this delicate aromatic bouquet.

Im Palast

The lively attack gives way to lovely tension and an enveloping roundness in the mid-palate, for a perfectly balanced tasting experience. A long, elegant, saline finish is followed by hints of grapefruit and other citrus fruits.

In Absprache

Served between 8 and 10°C, this Crémant de Loire Blanc de Blancs is a deliciously subtle aperitif. Paired with delicately iodised dishes (seafood, fish), its chiselled aromas and bubbles make all the difference.

Rat der Wache

Kept away from light and at a constant temperature, the cuvée will continue to develop for another 4 to 6 years.
